The Rules of Criticism

Allow comments or not allow comments.  Such is the dilemma of the blogger.  Personally, I think if you allow comments as a blogger, you should be able to take the insults of any ass hat 15 year old kid with an opinion.  That said, I'm setting forth some loose rules for comments, so there's no confusion as to why I'm pulling your comments on a given post.

1) Comment thoughtfully.  This means, I'll pull throwaway comments meant to boost my ego or beat it back down to size.  This is purely a housekeeping measure I'm taking to allow the cream to rise the top of the comment section.  Positive or negative, if you don't have much to say, but say it anyway, don't expect it to stay up unless I'm feeling altruistic.

2) If you insult, be creative.  If you have to use profanity, try words like 'douchetard', 'fuckwad' or phrases like 'fuck stick'.  Overall, have fun with putting me down if you hate what I'm doing here.

3) I encourage you to post songs you think I or somebody else put in the mix.  However, if you're wrong, I'm pulling the comment.  Nothing personal, just trying to keep people on the right track in looking for good music.

4) As a rule of thumb, I will most likely pull down nasty comments pertaining to guest mixes, clever or not.  I'm trying to promote a safe environment for people to share mixes, and I don't want snobbery or snarky remarks to scare people away from doing that.

If there's any confusion as to why I pulled your comment, and you have no life and need to ask me why your comment was pulled, hit me up on my e-mail, and I might give you an answer... unless you're a James-Taylor-loving no-talent ass-clown.

Pushing it forward,

Killing Hours
